An Overview of Your Adventure

DAY 1

Upon arriving at Paro International Airport, you’ll receive a warm Bhutanese welcome with a traditional ‘khadar’ scarf before embarking on a scenic drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital city, known for its unique architecture. Your day will be filled with visits to Bhutan Post, the National Library, the National Folk Heritage Museum, the Traditional Medicine Centre, and more cultural experiences before settling in for the night in Thimphu.

DAY 2

Your day begins with witnessing the Morning Prayer at Changangkha Lhakhang Monastery. Following breakfast, you’ll immerse yourself in Bhutanese culture with traditional dress and prayer rituals. Memorial Chorten, Pangri Zampa Lhakhang, Guru’s Lhakhang, and the giant Buddha Dordenma are some of the highlights of your sightseeing tour. In the evening, you’ll have leisure time in Thimphu.

DAY 3

After breakfast, you’ll visit the sacred Tsheluna Nye cave, housing ancient imprints and spiritual treasures. Your day will also include a trip to the Takin Preserve, where you’ll encounter Bhutan’s national animal, and the BBS Tower for panoramic views. The evening will be spent in Thimphu.

DAY 4

Today, you’ll embark on a picturesque journey through the Dochula Mountain Pass, offering breathtaking Himalayan vistas. Stops along the way include Druk Wangyel Chorten and the awe-inspiring Punakha Dzong, a 17th-century architectural marvel. You’ll explore the treasures within the dzong before retiring to your accommodations in Punakha.

DAY 5

A scenic drive awaits you as you journey through lush landscapes, crossing the Pelela Mountain Pass. En route, you’ll visit Chendebji Chorten, Trongsa Dzong, and Ta Dzong, which now serves as a museum showcasing Bhutanese history. Your day will culminate in the heartland of Buddhism, Bumthang, where you’ll dine and rest.

DAY 6

Today’s exploration will take you to Jambay Lhakhang, Chakhar Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, and the adjacent Tamshing Monastery, known for its ancient mural paintings. You’ll embark on a scenic hike with valley views and visit Jakar Dzong and Wangdichholing Palace. Your day will conclude with a comfortable night’s stay in Bumthang.

DAY 7

After breakfast, you’ll journey back to Punakha, reveling in the scenic beauty of ridges and villages along the way. You’ll have some leisure time in Punakha before enjoying dinner and your overnight stay.

DAY 8

Today’s adventure takes you to Baylangdra in Wangdue Dzongkhag, where you’ll see the legendary cypress tree. The Sacred Ney of Baylangdra, located atop a cliff, offers a spiritual experience. You’ll return to Punakha for dinner and a comfortable night’s rest.

DAY 9

You’ll begin your day by participating in morning prayers and teachings, followed by a visit to the ‘Fertility Temple’ in Sopsokha. As you journey back to Paro through picturesque countryside, you’ll take in the beauty of villages and paddy fields. The evening will be spent in Paro.

DAY 10

An early start leads to a memorable hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery, or Tiger’s Nest, perched dramatically on a cliff above Paro Valley. Your visit will also include stops at Drukgyal Dzong and Kyichu Temple. In the evening, you’ll experience rural Bhutanese life at a local farmhouse and indulge in a therapeutic hot stone bath.

DAY 11

Your journey concludes with your guide escorting you to your onward destination, filled with cherished memories of your Bhutanese adventure.
