An Overview of Your Adventure

DAY 1

Come to Paro International Airport and get a warm welcome from the locals. Then, you’ll be taken to your hotel and freshen up. After that, you can take a quick tour of Paro and check out some of the unique temples in the area. You can explore the city by yourself for a while, then grab dinner and stay the night.

DAY 2

After breakfast, make your way to Punakha valley, passing by Tachogang temple and Dochula mountain pass for panoramic views of the mountains. Take a stroll through Druk wangyel chorten and walk to Chimi lhakhang. Dinner and lodging in Punakha.

DAY 3

After a morning hike, head out on the water and try your luck on a rafting trip down the Pho Chu! You’ll go through Class II and IV rips, and then grab a bite to eat by the river. At night, you can enjoy dinner by the fire at one of the outdoor camps along the river.

DAY 4

Start your day with a day trip to the Punakha Valley, which includes a visit to the Chorten of Khamsum Jelley Namgyal. From there, you’ll take a drive to the capital of Bhutan, Thimphu. Here you’ll get to see the city’s unique architecture, visit Takin Preserve and BBS Tower, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views from the observation deck, as well as visit the Phodrang Kuensel and Memorial Chortens. DAY 5

Treat yourself to a day of sightseeing in Paro, starting with a trip to Changkha Temple. Then, make your way back through the countryside to Paro and take in some of the sights along the way. Make sure to stop off at the semtokha dzong and Rinpung dzong, as well as the national museum. Finally, make sure to check out Mani dungkhor while you’re in Paro.

DAY 6

After breakfast, head out on a one-day hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery. Spend some time meditating at the monastery, then grab some lunch on the way back. In the evening, you’ll be able to check out the dzong at Drukgyel and a farmhouse in Paro. Finally, you’ll wrap up your day with a goodbye dinner and cultural performance in Paro.

DAY 7

After breakfast, your guide will accompany you to Paro International Airport for your departure. Tashi delek!
