An Overview of Your Adventure

DAY 1

– Arrive at Kuching International Airport and transfer to your hotel.
– Check in and enjoy free time at leisure.
– Optional: Join the “Walk the White Rajah Trail” city tour (not included in package).
– Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 2

– Morning visit to Semenggoh Nature Reserve, a 740-acre sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating orangutans while studying their biology and behaviour in a protected haven.

– Step into the home of orangutans rescued from captivity and orphaned primates.
– Witness the successful reintroduction of many orangutans into the wild, while others — still dependent on human care — continue their journey toward independence.
– Daily feeding times provide an opportunity to spot these incredible primates.
– Sightings are not guaranteed as the orangutans roam freely within the reserve — so keep your eyes peeled!

– Continue the journey to Sri Aman, stopping at:

– Serian Native Market
– Rice fields & pepper plantation (subject to time availability)
– Lachau, a small up-country Chinese village, for lunch

– Arrive in Sri Aman and check in at Seri Simanggang Hotel.

– Afternoon guided tour of Sri Aman, visiting:

– Fort Alice (closed on Mondays)
– Tze Yin Khor Chinese Temple by the Lupar River.

– Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 3

– Travel by air-conditioned vehicle and traditional longboat to an Iban Longhouse.

– Meet the Iban people, learn about their traditions, and enjoy:

– A guided tour of the longhouse
– A traditional war dance performance
– A sampling of locally brewed “tuak” (rice wine)

– Native lunch by the riverbank (weather permitting) or inside the longhouse.

– Spend the afternoon at your leisure.

– Then witness the Benak (Tidal Bore), a rare natural phenomenon in Sri Aman

– Occurs when huge bodies of water rush upriver, creating waves up to five meters high.
– One of only 60 known tidal bore sites in the world, and ranked fourth globally.
– A daily spectacle along the Batang Lupar River, with especially dramatic waves during King Tides.
– If your visit aligns with this event (twice daily at varying times), enjoy a short walk from your hotel to the Batang Lupar waterfront for a front-row view.

– Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 4

– Enjoy a leisurely morning in Sri Aman before returning to Kuching.
– Lunch en route.
– Overnight in Kuching.

DAY 5

– Travel to Bako National Park, the oldest national park in Sarawak.

– Short boat ride to the park, known for:

– Unique limestone cliffs and rainforests
– Proboscis monkeys, macaques, monitor lizards, and bearded pigs
– Nature trails and stunning coastal scenery

– Return to Kuching for evening departure or extended stay.
