legendary Kitaro to perform on Christmas Eve at Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting

Japanese instrumentalist KITARO, who is famous for his brand of contemplative, highly melodic synthesiser music, is set to perform on Christmas Eve (24 December 2017) at 22:00 hrs at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting.

 

It has been more than six years since he last performed in Malaysia and his upcoming new tour “KOJIKI & the Universe” promises audiences a unique and visually-inspiring concert experience, merging the artist’s Grammy nominated music “KOJIKI” album with dynamic space-age photographic scenes of the Universe. The live concert will feature time-lapse images, expertly intertwined with real-time films provided by and in cooperation with NASA and Kyoto University.

 

KITARO’s “KOJIKI & the Universe” Live Tour was first performed on 20 April in California. The tour reached major cities in Europe, including London and Istanbul, impressing audience with his fascinating music arrangement where they are calling it an “out of this world” performance. The tour will continue in November with several stops at Romania, Ukraine and Bulgaria before coming to Malaysia.

 

KITARO whose real name is Masanori Takahashi, is a very popular composer and multi-instrumentalist from Japan. Inspired by American R&B, his unique fusion of electronic artistry, traditional Japanese forms and pop-inflected Western idioms created a rich, harmonic and poetic sound that won the legendary artist a huge international following. KITARO has won a Golden Globe Award for Outstanding Soundtrack on the movie ‘Heaven and Earth’ and a Grammy Award for ‘Thinking of You’.
