Share

Calling all animal lovers — dive into a thrilling adventure through three of Sri Lanka’s most captivating wildlife encounters, featuring majestic elephants, elusive leopards, and charming sea turtles.

Begin your journey at the Elephant Transit Home in Udawalawe, just 5 km from Udawalawe National Park. This sanctuary cares for injured adults and orphaned baby elephants, housing around 50 at any time. Witness the heartwarming feeding sessions, held four times daily, as these young elephants prepare to return to the wild.

Head over to Udawalawe National Park for an exciting jeep safari. Known for its vast elephant population, the park is a sanctuary that rivals the African savannah, sheltering nearly 500 elephants in its lush terrain.

Next up is Yala National Park, where you’ll encounter diverse wildlife like herds of elephants, vibrant peacocks, shy sloth bears, and elusive leopards slipping through dense foliage. Yala’s rich ecosystems offer some of the best wildlife sightings in Sri Lanka.

Cap off your wildlife tour at a turtle hatchery and conservation site, where you can observe baby turtles and several rare adult species, including Olive Ridley, Hawksbill, Green Turtle, Loggerhead, and Leatherback. Watch as they gracefully swim in large tanks, part of crucial conservation efforts.
