Did you know that in almost all Cambodian homes (and even at temples) you’ll find spirit houses or small shrines placed in the front courtyard of each house? Cambodians believe that the door of the shrine, which faces the entrance to the house, brings luck and wealth to the family. The spirit houses are also believed to appease bad spirits and keep them away from the homes’ residents.
