experience a different side of Bangkok’s chinatown after dark

Share

From the narrow alleys of Talad Noi to the bright lights of Yaowarat, discover the very best of Bangkok’s Chinatown on this late afternoon and evening tour.

Meet your guide at your hotel at 16:00hrs and transfer to the river to discover Chinatown’s most characterful alleys in the Talad Noi area. Talad Noi means ‘Little Market’ and this area is full of authentic charm. Exploring the area on foot and by tuk tuk, learn about the area’s fascinating history. Walk past centuries-old shophouses and other handsome buildings including Sol Heng Tai Mansion, an impressive Chinese mansion built over 200 years ago. Sneak a peek inside locals’ homes and see the unique sight of recycled engine parts piled up on the side of the road, ready to be converted into longtail boat engines. As day becomes night we visit a hidden away rooftop bar where you will enjoy a drink whilst watching boats pass by on the Chao Phraya river as the sun sets over Bangkok.

After the rooftop refresher, jump in a tuk tuk for a short ride to Yaowarat just in time to see the neighbourhood’s brilliant neon lights in full effect.

Food is never far away wherever you go in Bangkok and Chinatown is no different – enjoy sampling a variety of different Thai-Chinese dishes including a delicious sit-down dim sum dinner.

End the experience with a nightcap at a charming boutique hotel that evokes an atmosphere of Shanghai’s golden age before transferring back to your own hotel.
