Share

Designed for anyone desiring to touch base with the self and practise daily meditation and soft yoga while enjoying a unique stay, this Kalaw Hill Lodge yoga retreat is an ideal experience for holiday planners who wish to reconnect with not only nature but also themselves.

On arrival at Kalaw Hill Lodge, enjoy welcome drinks and a vegetarian lunch then time to stroll around the lodge or rest. Next, indulge in a relaxing 90-minute full body massage before the first yoga class designed to calm the mind. Learn that everything is all about balance then enjoy a meditation session after moving and swaying your body. After a healthy vegetarian dinner, escape to your personal sanctuary for a peaceful sleep.

Rise the next morning for an early yoga and meditation session before breakfast. Spend the day discovering the surrounding area. Visit the vegetable garden on the property, learn about traditional farming methods, explore nat (spirit) shrines nearby and feel inspired by the beliefs of the local people. Continue to explore more farming areas to meet with the farmers working with buffalos and planting pine trees. Lend a hand feeding animals and milking cows, sneak in a ride in an ox cart, then return back to the lodge and enjoy a delicious vegetarian lunch. In the evening, appreciate another yoga and meditation session followed by dinner.

On the third day, take part in a morning meditation session and yoga class before leaving the hotel for a half-day hike through the community. Visit the local Buddhist monastery and local library, then hike to Namthe, a Danu village. Explore the village and learn about the lifestyle of the Danu people. Taste traditional rice and plum wine at a local house then continue to a Nepalese village to savour a Nepalese lunch. Return back to the lodge and join in the last yoga and meditation session before the final dinner.

On the last day, transfer from Kalaw to Heho Airport for your onward journey.
