An Overview of Your Adventure

DAY 1

Your journey commences as you land at Paro International Airport. A representative warmly welcomes you with a traditional ‘khadar’ greeting scarf. After checking in at your hotel, explore the historic Drukgyal Dzong, which was once a strategic fortress guarding the Paro Valley.

DAY 2

Enjoy a scenic drive to Thimphu, the world’s only capital without traffic lights. Visit the Textile Museum, National Library, and National Folk Heritage Museum. Explore the Takin Preserve, ascend to the BBS Tower for panoramic views, and discover the 13th-century Tashichho Dzong.

DAY 3

Discover Bhutan Post’s unique stamps, then drive through Dochula Mountain Pass, offering stunning Himalayan views. Explore Chimi Lhakhang, known as the ‘Fertility Temple,’ and stay overnight in Punakha.

DAY 4

Begin your day with a visit to the impressive Punakha Dzong, housing treasured relics. Drive to Trongsa via the Pelela mountain pass, taking in captivating landscapes. Explore Chendebji Chorten, Trongsa Dzong, and Ta Dzong, a museum on Bhutan’s monarchy.

DAY 5

Continue your journey to Bumthang, a spectacular valley with rich Buddhist heritage. Explore Jambay Lhakhang, Chakhar Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, Tamshing Temple, and Jakar Dzong. Conclude your day with a visit to Wangdichholing Palace.

DAY 6

Enjoy a day trip to Ura Village, nestled in the Tang Valley. Discover quaint villages, lush forests, and the iconic Burning Lake, Mebar Tsho.

DAY 7

Head to Gangtey, the winter home to rare black-necked cranes. Visit the crane information and observation center, surrounded by the stunning Black Mountain National Park.

DAY 8

Start your day with a downhill walk to Khewang Lhakhang, a sacred temple. Drive back to Thimphu and spend the evening at your leisure.

DAY 9

Return to Paro and explore Rinpung Dzong, Ugyen Pelri Palace, National Museum, Dungtse Lhakhang, and Kyichu Temple.

DAY 10

Embark on a morning hike to the iconic Taktsang Monastery, known as Tiger’s Nest. After lunch, visit a local farmhouse and experience rural Bhutanese life. DAY 11: Bid farewell to Bhutan as your guide accompanies you to the airport for your onward journey.
