Originally built in the 1930s by French real estate company Fonci\u00e8re et Immobili\u00e8re de Chine, the Jian Ye Li estate is now comprised of the ultra-luxury Capella Shanghai, Capella Residences and The Gallery, a retail destination for lifestyle brands. Sensitively restored for affluent clientele, these shikumen buildings are a marriage of traditional Shanghainese and Western architectural styles which first appeared in the 1860s. Due to Shanghai\u2019s rapid development, original shikumen houses are a rarity against the glistening skyscrapers and modern architecture. The Jian Ye Li estate will be a showcase of Shanghai\u2019s residential heritage featuring Chinese courtyard houses with Parisian flair.<\/p>\n

Capella Shanghai boasts 55 villas complemented by the legendary Capella Library, award-winning Auriga Spa, a French brasserie and different intimate event venues.
