{"id":85490,"date":"2017-07-25T13:48:01","date_gmt":"2017-07-25T06:48:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.diethelmtravel.com\/?p=85490"},"modified":"2017-07-25T13:48:01","modified_gmt":"2017-07-25T06:48:01","slug":"malaysian-tax-implementation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dth.travel\/fr\/malaysian-tax-implementation\/","title":{"rendered":"Malaysian tourism tax  implementation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>UPDATE: 28 August 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The tourism tax will be enforced on September 1<sup>st<\/sup>.\u00a0 The tax applies to foreign tourists, who will be charged a flat rate of RM10 per night and per room for all types of hotels and accommodation.\u00a0 The tourism tax will not apply to homestays and kampung stays registered with the Ministry of Tourism.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tourism tax will be collected from guests by the hotel at the time of check-out.\u00a0 Only Hotel Operators are allowed to collect Tourism Tax.\u00a0 Any hotel operators not registered with Royal Malaysia Customs Department are not allowed to collect the Tourism Tax and this includes the local Inbound Tour Operators.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Due to the above regulation set by the Royal Malaysia Customs Department, all clients are required to pay the tourism tax directly to the hotel upon check-out. \u00a0Therefore, Diethelm Travel Malaysia are unable to pay tourism tax on behalf of the clients.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPDATE: 10 August 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Referring to our notification earlier in regards to the implementation of Malaysia Tourism Tax, we wish to provide you a further update on this matter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tourism tax will be enforced on September 1. The tax will only apply to foreign tourists, who will be charged a flat rate of RM10 per night and per room for all types of hotels and accommodation.
