In Cambodia\u2019s capital city, the locals head to Prek Leap where a number of small restaurants consist of scattered dining platforms on the riverbank, on the water &#8211; even in the trees! The Golden River Restaurant is a particular favourite and where Diethelm takes guests for a Go Local experience.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, an interesting Go Local destination in Kratie is Angkor Ban, a group of seven villages located along the Mekong River, several of which are home to the &#8220;Indigo Community.&#8221; Here, the local specialty is using indigo dye silk and cotton in the traditional manner. Caring for Young Khmer (CYK), a Japanese NGO, has encouraged local women to practise and preserve the arts of weaving and natural dyeing.
