An Overview of Your Adventure

Day 1

– Transit from Manila to Laoag via air travel.
– Explore the Paoay Sand Dunes for a 4×4 ride across the natural sand-covered landscape, with an optional sandboarding activity.
– Lunch is served at a restaurant offering Ilocano-inspired pizza topped with ingredients from pinakbet, with a view overlooking the San Agustin Church of Paoay, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
– Experience a loom-weaving workshop showcasing the traditional Abel textile.
– Travel to Abra for overnight stay, with an optional photo stop at Tangadan Tunnel.

Day 2

– Travel from Bangued to Tineg and visit Apao Rolling Hills, featuring wave-like landscapes with optional hiking or cycling activities.
– Continue to Kaparkan Falls via 4×4 ride across rough terrain, followed by a 600-meter trek to the main site.
– Explore Kaparkan Falls, a multi-tiered limestone waterfall approximately 500 meters long.
– Lunch is served at the Kaparkan Falls site, surrounded by numerous blue-green pools and a central Balete tree associated with local folklore.
– Optional stop at the St. James the Elder Cathedral (Bangued Cathedral), known for its Baroque and Neo-Gothic architectural design.

Day 3

– Travel to Lagayan to visit Ar Arbis Falls, involving a trekking journey from the jump-off point.
– Pass through the scenic view of the Palsuguan River, followed by a river tubing experience after the trek.
– Journey through a Loom Weaving Village in La Paz, Abra, showcasing the traditional weaving practices of the Itneg people.
– Explore Abra textiles, including Binakol, known for its geometric patterns.
– Lunch back at Bangued and travel to San Quintin, Abra to meet a National Living Treasure and the last known maker of Tabungaw (gourd) hats in the Philippines.
– Return to Bangued for an overnight stay.

Day 4

– Have a laid-back experience in La Union, the “Surfing Capital of the Philippines.”
– Stop at Santiago Cove to have lunch and leisurely enjoy at the sun and the beach.
– Continue traveling from Santiago, Ilocos Sur to La Union and check-in at the accommodation.
– Explore San Juan, La Union for red clay pottery activity.

Day 5

– Travel to the off-the-beaten sites of La Union in Burgos.
– Discover Bolikewkew Rice Terraces, which also offers a viewpoint overlooking the Bolikewkew River.
– Proceed to Burgos Town and explore how “boyboy” or “walis” is made.
– Travel back to Manila, arriving in the evening.
