Every year the Sarawak Tourism Board organises the Rainforest World Music Festival for thousands of music enthusiasts. The highly anticipated festival traditionally takes place in the Sarawak Cultural Village at the foot of Mount Santubong, just 35 km outside of Sarawak’s capital, Kuching. Celebrating the diversity of world music, the three-day festival runs workshops during the day and performances in the evening usually hosting approximately 20 music groups and featuring a wide range of musical performances, from traditional to world fusion and contemporary.
This year the festival will be held 14-16 July and expects to see about 30,000 visitors from around the world.
